The Coupure
Brugge is tricky. Arriving from the Ghent side, you must go through two swing bridges. Supposedly VHF 18 is monitored, but boaters reported having little luck with that.
Park Kruisvest
The part of the Bruges ramparts from 1297 that lies between the Dampoort and the Kruispoort is called the Kruisvest, after the Kruispoort and the municipality of Sint-Kruis with which it forms the border.
From the Kruispoort to the Dampoort there is a wide promenade on top of the former fortress. It contains four old mills, the Sint-Janshuismolen, the Koeleweimolen, the Bonne-Chièremolen, and the Nieuwe Papegaai. The Sint-Janshuis mill and the Koelewei mill are still ready for milling.
